Lid?

I found this stamped brass(?) piece today on hunt cut short by the heat. It is very thin and there are no attachment points on it. The only thing that comes to my mind is a lid for a jewelry box or something like that. After looking at the pictures, I think the last one may be the front/top and the first two are the back side.

Someone on another site said it was part of a desk set that held an ink well. That sounds good to me. And, the last picture is the top.

That is correct. The ink well would have sat in the indention in the center.
