I received permission for an old homesite I went there and there is so many iron targets that I think it is masking true targets. Should I try digging up some of the iron in order to try and find old coins or just give up on the site

Is it a still standing home site or is it an iron debris field of where a home site was , say like in a field ??

I love to dig it all. some interesting iron relics out there in old fields. last year I hauled all my old iron scrap to the yard and got about 75 bucks. (this year, the price/lb fell to nearly nothing). so I know an artist who takes some of the scraps and welds and makes beautiful artwork (outdoor yard art stuff), so I give them to him.
