Timing is everything

On Tuesday I decided to do some water hunting at Milwaukes largest and most popular beach. It is about 45 minutes from my house so I do not get there often. As I was approaching the beach I could see there was some construction going on. There was a large backhoe digging a trench 4 feet deep and about the length of 2 football fields. I thought this looks interesting but I was hear to water hunt , the sand would have to wait, besides there were workers all over the place laying pipe and such. I hit the water for two hours and found a few pieces of clad. While I was detecting the water another detectorist started detecting the piles of sand. The workers did not seem to mind so I broke for lunch and went to introduce myself to the other detectorist. I asked if he was having any luck and He showed me an Indian, a few wheats, a silver Rosie and a Merc. So guess what I did, yes I hit the sand for the last two hours of my hunt. I managed to get 2 Mercs and 1 silver Rosie plus 6 wheats. I wanted to return the next day in the worst way but I already had comminments so my return would have to wait until Thursday. When I arrived Thursday the trench had already been filled so I worked about half the area that was filled. Thursday's hunt produced 8 more wheats a silver Washington, 2 silver Rosie's and a Merc. I also found about $5 in clad for the two hunts. I was not all fun and games I also dug 154 pulltabs hoping that some gold had also surfaced but no luck. I guess I was lucky to be there at the right time. By the way the wheats were all toasted.

Nice silver haul. I can see what you mean by timing is everything. Great that you managed to get back fo anoher hunt also, and you sure did try for the gold, 154 pulltabs....yikes

Awesome timing and yes timing is everything! I knew they were going to be working down there but did not know when, glad at least a few people scored some of the goodies. Coincidentally I was planning to head down there tomorrow anyway because of some clearings in the parks down close to there that were done over that past couple of weeks.
