This past Sunday John (midas) called me late in the day to meet him at a site he was working at the time. I was reluctant at first seeing as it would be a bit of a drive and there was less than three hours of daylight left. But the desire to swing the coil won me over. Anyway, it was a good decision, as I managed to dig up a few wheat cents, a 1884 Indian Head cent, part of a cufflink, and a couple of silver coins, a 1886 seated dime and a 1944 mercury dime.

Today I needed to unwind, so late in the afternoon I headed to a local site to detect for a while. Being at the park wasn't as pleasant as I had hoped due to recurring showers, but the finds more than made up for the unpleasantness. On this hunt I picked several wheat cents, four crusty Indian Head cents, and three silver coins, a 1920 mercury dime, a 1912 Barber dime, and a low mintage 1874 seated quarter.
