My Oldest/Nicest LC, and Relics

We struck out at a site this morning, the only find worth mentioning was a tootsie toy car which I gave to the home owner. On the way home my partner Merc saw some state land as we sped by. I turned around and parked. We followed a wall into the woods. I set up a non-trash program and started swinging a walled in pen. The pens are all about 4 acres as that was the distance a farmer wanted to walk with a rock for the wall. I walked about 50 yards without hearing ANY metal. :thinkingabout: Then hit a perfectly repeatable high 80s at 6 or 7 inches. It came out of nowhere. It was dumb luck. :dontknow: A sweet 1817 LC  and a nice small tombac about 5 feet away. The only two pieces of metal in that field. :shocked03:
Yesterday I had a short hunt at a different site. The flat button still has blue fabric on it :shocked04:stretcher: The dog tag is 1936 and the Ross Bros tag is a seed company. The other coins are wheats.

 Nice LC. Its in beautiful condition, that dog tag is also nice. The button must have been in the ground the right way to preserve the cloth on it all those years. Congrats.

Nice LC...great that it worked its way under your coil. 4 acres is a lot of turf to cover and to score the LC out of there is fantastic. :perfect10:
