I was working an area 20 feet from a cellar hole. Merc and I hit this place fairly well, so my plan was to dig fringe signals, maybe dig some overloads to remove the iron. I dug 3 old nails in one hole, got slightly aggravated, got up, moved my coil about 4 ft from where I was excavating, and got a super strong repeatable. Beethoven could have heard it...and he's dead (hey, Beethoven was alive when this coin was minted). I'm calling it an 1818.
Anyone know if the buckle is a sash? The two pins are brass, as the forks swivel beautifully. It must be ornamental as it is too delicate for any real pressure.
The dandy is just that ;)

Nice job shufflin that iron around and squeekin out that copper....that button is awesome and as for the buckle....it almost looks like a stock buckle without the little nubs.
