3 Trimes - Half Dime - Half Reale - Copper - 2-Cent - Gold

We had rain this morning, so I was beginning to think that being able to get out for an afternoon hunt would have to wait until Saturday. But the rain soon ended and my plan to head to the park was back on track. Today I had a mixed bag of finds, with silver, copper and gold ending in my pouch.

I had a terrific day with the old silver, picking up three Trimes, a seated half dime, and a half reale. :happydance01:

The Trimes are dated 1852, 1855 (139,000 minted), and 1859 (365,000 minted).

Another Spanish silver to add to the collection - a 1796 half reale.

This was a cool find - a 1922 Pittsburgh Railways token.

I also dug up one 1943-S silver wartime nickel, a 14kt gold ring, another gold piece that appears to be part of a cufflink, a corroded 2-Cent piece, and a 1853 large cent.

These make up the rest of the finds - 8 corroded Indian Head cents and 14 wheat cents. I did pick up a few more wheat cents after I took this photo.

Spectacular as usual Angel! What a great bunch of history you uncovered on this hunt. It really does make you think about all those that walked the same ground before us. I just love seeing these wonderful old coins coming to the light of day again. I know they have a good home once again. ;)

Thanks Tim! lol One of the Trimes did not hit above a Co of 29, and it was mostly at about 26. The other two did hit higher, with the Co settling mostly on 34.

Angel, another fantastic hunt. Congrats on the trimes, I don't think I have seen three posted on one hunt. That 1/2 dime is great looking and of course what would be a Angel hunt without a copper. Congrats on all those great keepers.

The deepest was the half dime, at about 8 inches. The others varied, but were mostly in the five inch range. :yes: There is plenty of surface trash and iron, creating many competing signals and making isolating the signals of those tiny coins a challenge.

I can hear the bigger silver among trash (generally), but I can't imagine hearing a coin with such a tiny footprint when the trash is so much more prevalent. :thinkingabout:
