This afternoon I went to the small town where my in-laws live. I can't set foot in that town without thinking about all the luck I've had in the past hunting the town common there, so of course I had to take my metal detector along.
I continue to be amazed at the quantity of old coins that have come out of this small site. My finds today weren't mind-blowing, but I still found some oldies. The biggest surprise of the day was a 1942 Washington Quarter. It is the first silver quarter that I have found at this site. It produced an odd signal that was mostly one-directional. It was about six inches deep between two old buried bricks. The coin may have been on edge, I'm not sure. I was just happy to get a silver quarter, I hadn't found one in almost four months. :girlcry:
Here are my finds for the day:
62497
And the keepers:
62498
This 1895 Indian Head is the sixth one I've found at this site:
62499
The old nickels are starting to dry up at this site, so I was happy to get this Buffalo:
62500
This Merc produced a really weird 12-50 signal on my E-Trac. :dontknow:
62501
And the 1942 Washington which was a nice surprise:
62502
Thanks for looking and happy hunting!
