I saw two very odd things today for January 10 in central Illinois:
1. Two girls in a convertible with the top down.
2. A guy mowing his yard.
It was 55 degrees and sunny here today, just unreal weather for this time of year! I couldn't resist taking off work just a tad early to get a few swings in before dark. I went to a nearby ball park that is about 6 miles from my house. I have hunted this park a few times before and have never found any silver there. Today was no exception.
My finds today weren't overly exciting, in fact I usually wouldn't even bother posting these. I couldn't resist though since I'm not usually able to hunt at all this time of year.
Here are the finds from the 2-hour hunt:

Old coins are sparse at this park, so I was actually happy to get two wheaties:

The Buffalo Nickel was in pretty good shape with a clear date:

A pinback button that is about the size of a nickel. It was pretty deep and sounded like an Indian Head Cent. On the back it says St. Louis Button Co.:

Just a junk ring but it looks old and I like the way the light shines though the stone:

I hope the weather was nice where you are today too! Thanks for looking and happy hunting!
