:shocked03: That is one cool piece! Are you going to do anything else to it- to clean it? It's silver? I'm glad I looked back & saw this post- a little late on this one!
What is it's value? Have you ever found something really valuable? My best valuable coin ever is 1838o seated dime. They are pretty rare.

It is in the photo. You can not clean - it's patina.
Without this layer - this is not a $ of coin.
I sold this Monty in this form. In the photo, you can even see the dust and dirt.
My customer ask me - do not clean!
In 2010, my best coin. AU - a large Greek coin, more than 100 grams. I sell it back in 2010. sell it for $ 3200
Unfortunately, I no found the more expensive coins
But I do not often sell coins (partial) year.
I have sold only 3 coins.
I am selling - just when I needed money.
99.9 % My coins - I keep at home.
The time will come - and I'm selling them all (one year). And it will be a lot of money))) :clapping:
1838 Coin of the United States. Yes - I'm here to see them (women sitting). How much was their circulation? How much $ is this coin in the U.S.?
ps Other coins - Greek prices are considerably less :dontknow:

Very nice find, I've said it before but you guys have it made with the age range of your finds. I get excited just knowing I have a chance to find a coin from the 1800's I can't imagine what it would be like to find some thing several hundred or even a thousand years old. great find!!
