Last week I told you how my partner found a cellar hole and waited for me to recover from illness. We finally got to hit it this weekend. I find cellar holes by using old maps...as does everyone else. This particular hole was special because it is shown on old maps but on the wrong side of the street and about 200 yards south of the actual hole. Just far enough away that others must have given up trying to find it. My partner didn't know this site was on our to-do list but happened by and caught a glimpse of a hole. The kicker is that modern maps don't show that the state owns that side of the road...but state signs are clearly posted right in front of the hole.....you can't research this hole....You must drive by....and it is on a dirt road out in the middle of nowhere.
So, in addition to very cool relics, here is what we got (so far),
1894,1902,1909 indians, 1906,1910 barber dimes, 1918 SLQ, 1914! and 1924 buffs, 4 early wheats, and an 1818 LC! Brandon (Merc) is having issues posting pics here and you've seen how I clean coins....so I'll add pics when I can.
