silver and wheats today

Hit a new site today, and old sports field that is now on private property -- the site of a restaurant. This is an out of the way location, and I had high hopes for the site, assuming I could get permission.

I showed up to the site, and the field was in disrepair, beer cans and litter everywhere. Perfect :happydance01: I was lucky enough to find someone at the restaurant (you never know on a Sunday morning), and even luckier to get a yes when I asked if you mind if I swing my detector thru that field out back <: <: He couldn't care if I were gonna drill for oil in that field. happydance02

First hour pulled 3 silvers happydance02, and given I had 9 hours to blow, I did the math and was thinking a personal record kinda day, but it was not to be as I hit a long dry spell after that, pulling tons of wheaties, but nothing shiny. The wheaties keep your morale up, and eventually I hit another 3 spot just before lunch, and felt I'd be content if I could get a double digit day out of this site.

After lunch I hit a 2 dime spill :happydance01:, 8 silvers 5 hours in, but the remaining 3 hours were more of a struggle, pulling one per hour for a total of 11 on the day. Also pulled 30 wheats on the day, none older than 1935.

I'm happy if I get over 30. I may do more field hunting next year looking for older stuff, and the finds will go way down. And alot of my best sites are being hunted out, (at least its me doing it ), so I don't expect to have nearly the kind of year.
