Well the crops are all just about out of the fields around here. So that means some of my oldest sites just opened back up. thumbsup01
I've hunted this 1870's school site around 6 or 7 times since last years crops were out and the field was tilled. My first time there I found my first shield nickle on my second hole. But the place hasn't given up another single coin since. Mike Silverstar wanted to go and try this old site. I told him that I had hit it pretty hard and I have pretty much gave up on it. :dontknow: But he said he wanted to try it anyways. Since he has taken me to so many places that have produced good finds I figured If he wants to go that bad. Then that's where we're going. :dontknow:
BOY ! Am I glad he did!! :happydance01: lol I was hunting in two tone ferris when I get a real loud / strong BING BING. With the numbers jumping from aluminum to half dollar. Being fairly close to the road thats normal from the aluminum cans people throw out their cars. I dug down and sure enough  The bottom of a beer can  so I kick the dirt back in the hole and re-swept the area. This time a another strong bing with a steady 12-45  Thinking I might have cut part of the can off and left it in the hole. :dontknow: I flipped the hole back open and pin pointed something small, round, flat, and shinny!! :shocked04:
