So, i haven't been out in about 3 weeks and today I went to a local park. 1st dig was the IH then a few deep wheats. I had another deep copper sounding item and it turned out to be this button. It was deep and in a very old park. I've never seen one, anyone here?
Next park 1st dig...another IH penny from under the roots. The in line probe really helps in that environment for sure.
I believe this to be the proper orientation of the button.....looks like an eagle behind a cannon?

Yep, an inline probe is a terrific timesaver when recovering targets amongst the tree roots!

Nice button. I recognized the eagle as being from the war of 1812 era and then saw Del confirmed that in his reply. Congrats on a GREAT piece of history. Best wishes and HH, Dave.
