I received permission to detect private property which has a house dating back to 1723. So far I have visited 3 times for roughly 16 hours of detecting. Coin total is 85, including 3 silver, 23 wheaties, 1 IH, 1LC, 1 two center and a buffalo nickel.
I've really enjoyed the wide range of relics I've found. Most amazing are the two partial colonial buckles I found. First, they are the largest I have ever seen, almost the size of my hand. Second, is the fact that I found parts of a matching pair. At first I thought I found the remainder of the other, until I matched them up and realized they overlapped.
The 1852 large cent has some of the best details I've ever dug. Also, the gold plated wheatie is pretty neat.
Also a lot of copper relics with 1800's patent dates. The comb item, has a 1805 patent date. It looks to me to be a lice comb.
A couple what is it's I'll post in other posts.
Thanks for looking.
