mine and sniffy's day started out lookin for 2 cellar holes supposedly along a river.once we got up there we couldn't find anything but a mountainous steep hillside sloping 45 degrees downwards towards the river.was a rough start.the pic doesn't show really how steep it was.
Next we decided to go back to the 1710 house that the owner said we could come back.
the wife told us we could search an hour cuz they were gonna be doing yardwork.I dug 3 indian headsone 1889 & 2 being fatties.dates are wiped out but one has no shield on reverse so it has to be 1859.next target after IH's was a small copper a woods hibernia i believe.no date.we thanked owner and cruised around the area.saw 2 cellar holes along side of road.1st site coughed up the no date Connecticut.obverse is shot but enough on back to ID it.second site gave up a 1900 IH & the complete early colonial shoe buckle. ticks are out be careful!
broke 50 large coppers with these 2 coins today
