Dick tracy Detective item needs info.

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone may have any info on the Dick Tracy item I found the other day? It appears old but after researching it on the net I can not find one like it. Any idea of age or what it was to? Thanks any help appreciated.

I searched quite a few variations of Dick Tracy Badge and couldn't come up with a match to yours. Then after looking at your
photos, I realized the one you have pictured appears very small compared to your background. How big is it? US quarter size?

Thanks Joe, I also searched and couldn't find anything on it. It is larger than a quarter but smaller than a half dollar. I did see a picture of one on google images but no info on it. Thay did make a few different badges but none of them look like this one.

how does this one adhere to something as i don't see an attachment pin , and this one is not like the traditional brass composition but more like a cast or pot metal . it does look to have some age on it though.
