Today I had my first ever hunt with another forum member! Thanks to DaddyDigger (Dave) for making the long drive up and meeting me in Decatur, IL. I had never hunted in this city before, so after meeting and making our introductions we headed to a park that looked old. Dave made a really nice find, but I will let him tell about his day.
We started hunting about noon and went until 4:30 with a short break. I found a Merc dated 1939-S and a Rosie dated 1948. Right before we left I found a spill of 5 wheat cents all on top of each other in the same hole, with the newest being from 1927. They were under a very large sycamore tree and unfortunately they are pretty toasted.
It was a very fun day and it was nice having someone there to share finds with in real time. Dave is going to stay in the area tonight and we may hunt together again tomorrow.
Here is the first silver coin I found, the 1939-S Merc:

Here is my second silver of the day, the 1948 Rosie:

And here is one of the lone wheats I found, hiding in the bottom of my plug:

Here are the 5 wheat cents from the spill, including two that are still stuck together:

Here are my finds for the day:

And here are my keepers:

Thanks for looking and happy hunting!
