Right as it got dark after 3 hours of digging nails and aluminum I was just about to give up. I got a 6 inch signal and it was going off like crazy around dime and quarter. I thought it was more junk as nothing was working out at this place...all rocks and rocks with metal signals...and junk iron...
I was digging around and leveraged my shovel in this last hole right as my shovel released a clod of coins flew out.
1911 and 1902 Barber Dime, 1914 Barber Quarter, and an 1898 and 1897 V nickels. They apparently were stacked as the nickels left marks on the silver.
I scratched a dime and the quarter got a nick too. :( -- So psyched - first silver and in a lot! Can't wait to go back. lol

It might take a lot of effort to go back down again...I may need to give it a week, I am sick of that soil...full of rocks, coal, clay, magnetic rocks, I don't get it. lol The one place I find something it is actually normal good old dirt...I don't get it.
And forget about plugs...good thing the owner doesn't care...its almost impossible to dig a plug...the grass comes up like a wig...and the ground just falls apart. :shocked04:stretcher:

Now that is one sweet early spill, congrats to you!! I would suggest trying an air test that will surprise you. Take the two V nickels and the Barber quarter and stack them on the ground and swing your coil over them. Then set the close side by side and go over them again. It is an interesting difference in the signal and makes you think twice about digging different signals.
