Hello all!

I headed back to the colonial home I dug the nice 1749 KG II at two weeks ago... With dreams of silver and early colonial goodies swimming in my head..

Well the day did not turn out to be filled with silver or early colonial goodies... I did nab one nice keeper! and I enjoyed the day swinging and digging...

This was lound and clear @ 4-5 in the sand sediment from Merrimack River.... Still has nice detail !!

I hope everyone got out and had a great day !!!

** UPDATE - Hogge pointed out on TNet:

Your 1819 LC is a Newcome 1, common. It is actually 1819/8. If you look VERY closely the 9 is punched over the 8. In the opening of the 9 you can see the bottom left oval of the 8. It is actually in very nice shape. Congrats.............Hogge

We were all waiting for your return to NH and anticipation of what you might find. :thinkingabout:

Although it may not be what you expected, it was a rewarding hunt, doing what you love to do and finding some nice relics and a nice large cent. :clapping:

Can't believe the condition of copper coming out of the ground in NH, sure wish I could find some like that here in Connecticut. :daydream:

Wow..nice coin. My first thought was that other thing looked like a doll's bed head board.

Someone on TNet suggested it was upside down and a rocker crib end...

Paul, I found something very similar to that lid thing two over to the right of the crib thing. Does yours have threads on it?

Mine is either a botton front (2 piece) or a decrative attachment... No threads...

Nice looking large cent Paul thumbsup01 That thing was dropped right around 1819ish. Well you didn't strike the mother load, but you did get a decent copper, plus some other good stuff. Overall it was a great place to hunt!! Another idea for that bed/crib thing, is that it is a traveling salesman's sample.

Wow Paul, that large copper is in excellent shape. Was it deep?

5 - Not very deep at all... about the same depth as the 1749 I got at this location...

No one cares much about the date, what a great looking coin. Large cents are as rare as hens teeth around here, >:# and I'm just waiting for the day that I can find one. I would even take an ugly one. Congratulation! thumbsup01

Awesome looking LC! Do you use soap and water at all? I got one yesterday but afraid to touch it so it still has a little dirt on it.

This piece came out of the gound like this... I did a little water and a light tooth brushing... I applied a little Renaissance Wax...

Thank you!

Really nice finds! If I could take a guess I think that the bed end in your hand may actually be a rocking cradle/baby crib if you turn it around. Just a guess.
