Unusual mix of keepers today, but I pulled a pair of gold rings and a large cent. The LC is classic head with full liberty and I can even make out the 80 making it an 1808 or 1809. Of course, it is so abused that you can't make out any of the obverse without the water and light trick.
The gold rings were a bit of a surprise, as I'm mainly looking for older coins, but they both came in at CO 25/26 on the E-Trac, which is a number where smaller exotic silver and IHs can hit, so I've been digging it. Its my first ever multi-gold day. (I also found a gold fill earring today (and its huge), so I thought I had a gold hat trick, until I discovered it was GF ). (I don't count GFs as gold finds, and the refiner I use (ARA) doesn't process them (at least not for me)).
The wedding band is initialed with both bride and groom's initials, and the exact date (the year is in the 60s). 14K @ 4.19 grams. The class ring also has initials engraved, and of course the class and school. 10K @ 7.28 grams. The prospect of returning both seems likely, tho 40+ years on the wedding band is a long time.
Thanks for looking and HH.
