Short hunt at a new spot

All day long I was thinking about some property I just received permission to hunt. Finally at 5:00 I was able to
grab the metal detector and get to it.
The first swing after noise canceling gave me a nice solid target. Out pops the Merc. :happydance01:
I picked up a few wheats over the next hour and on my way back to the truck hit another sweet sound... the quarter.

Can't wait to get back and spend 3-4 hours. There's gotta be some nice ones waiting there for me. Lots of area I haven't checked yet.

That's a beauty of a Merc :happydance01: Lot of area to check...and re-check too ;) I would be all over that place from every angle and in every weather situation too lol

:shocked04: It begins! :->
The new place is showing early signs good things to come

Definitely a lot of area. Just wandered in a straight line and back tonight. Probably start off doing the same next time there looking
for hot zones then grid.

Looks like you have a great spot there! :smitten: Looking forward to seeing more of your finds. :-> How old is the property, if you don't mind me asking?

Great hunt Joe! :clapping: Btw love your updated 2011 photo gallery. The granite makes for such nice backdrop on your pics- love that color :)

Thanks folks!

Not at all... the house that sits on this yard was built in 1901.

Still swinging that 5 coil?
I had the 11 coil on for this hunt. I was in recon mode while I was there. But I definitely hit some areas that will require the
surgical abilities of the X-5.

Thanks Darren, sometimes I get lucky and stumble across some areas with potential.

Thanks Tana, it's actually a big piece of rusty iron... that I found metal detecting. lol Thought it was going
to be a cache when I went after the signal. 8/
