This was a real treat. I went to a park I like to call Buffalo park as I have dug four of those babies this year there so far. I dug my oldest coin yet, a 1909 P Lincoln cent and a few Mercs there the oldest being a 1918 D, so I feel there are a lot more older coins to be found. As im going around this tree I get a signal on my V3i that is bouncing all over the place (low teens to high 70s). Im getting better at this game so I decide to dig. At about 4 inches down a 1923 buff pops out. I rescan the hole nothing....but in my dirt pile I get a reading of 84 which means to me quarter if anything.....imagine my surprise when this like new 1920 standing liberty quarter pops out. I just did the happy dance in my mind because there is a lot of people around and I did not want to draw attention to myself. My heart was racing and I just stood around for a few minutes to absorb what just happened. I waited until I got home to gently clean the dirt off because I did not want to put any scratches on it. The feeling was like no other I have had yet in this hobby. Cant wait to get out there and find some more. Thanks for looking and now I can scratch this one off the list!!!!

She is great shape, must have been dropped in 1920 lol. On the early ones the date was not recessed, and it wore off very quickly. You got a sweet standing there!

Simply a gorgeous coin, and one of the reasons Standing Liberty Quarters are my favorite. Just beautiful.

Way to go! :clapping: The people in the park probably saw a solitary figure kneeling quietly near the base of a tree...if they only knew that there was a full on happy dance party going on in your head! :cheering: :happydance01: :cheering:
