this is my oldest coin, it's a roman bronze serstertius, and is of Marcus Aurelius AD161-80, minted in Rome......it's not too clear and the tail side is blank, approx 30mm in diameter.........byron

Nice coin. Is it doulble struck, or is it supposed to be a dual image? Looks to be in very nice condition compared to some of what we get around here, and ours coins are much, much newer lol

That's the first thing I noticed too, it does indeed appear to be double struck.
Great coin!

Marcus Aurelius holy crud! THis coin was made long before the fall of the Roman Empire....probably by slave labor. That's an amazing find. Ok guys let's head to Europe and find some real oldies.
Nice coin Byron......I take it you found it in England?

Nice find! Is it just me or did the movie Gladiator pop into your head after reading the name Marcus Aurelius?
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.
What an awesome movie! :boxing:
Congrats on your oldest thumbsup01
