got out with Gary today.hit a couple sites that were duds.we saw a nice old center chimney colonial foundation next to this house.after talking with the wife we got the go ahead.just putting on headphones and turning machine on.a pickup truck pulls up.the guy is ranting hey maybe i wanna do that myself, that's my property & i was thinkin about getting detector! we walk over to truck then he turned nice as pie asking questions etc.he says i'll go with ya and give ya 15 mins see what ya pull. now the guy is like 75 can barely walk lol
anyways i pulled a large cloak button,he's leaning over me as i pinpoint it.i hand it to him show him the design around edge and he slips it in his coat pocket.no thanks, nothin!.(not a GW whew) then he was over gary's shoulder and i got the saddle shield type thing and pouched it quick.so needless to say we up and left.anything we woulda dug he was claiming so why bother staying :dontknow:
we hit one more pounded site .pretty much clean as a whistle but on other side of rock wall i got a nice penny/dime signal at 3 inches and the copper popped out.not sure if it's a Connecticut or a King george? ya can see the 17?? .can any of you identification guru's help me out on this one? copper is pretty much wasted just a little bit of detail hanging on at least thumbsup01
oh and oxknob # 4! :peace:
HAPPY EASTER everyone!

That is cool looking Dave thumbsup01 Look how much material is removed due to corrosion >:# But at least that one turns out to be a cool looking converastion piece. Better that it was a George copper than a Chain Cent

Hidy Heavy . Dont you just love people like that . I spent about 3 munths looking for a camp site , and had a man come all the way from Alb. Mexco. and showed me where it was . The husband didnt care but his wife didnt want me to hunt it she said if I found anything I would want to keep it . DAAAAAAAAAAAA !

Boy those detail are brarely hanging on....not that I'd normally say this or do it, but this maybe a rare case...I'd maybe shellac it or something to keep those details hanging on...
Nice find!
