My wife and I went back in our favorite woods today for about 4 hours. It has rained a lot recently and some areas were washed out, making available land that was previously hard to access. Also some trees came down this past winter and opened up other spots for hunting.
I concentrated on land covered with brier patches that I avoid during the warmer months. It turned out to be a good strategy.

One of the first items I found was a pin that I initially thought was a coin. It is a little bigger than a dime and is Sterling. A little research revealed that it belonged to a member of a 1930's youth club that was something like the Boy's and Girl's club, only with a little more emphasis on religion.

Soon after that I dug a nice 46 Rosie and then started finding wheaties on the side of a hill.

My wife came and joined me. Pieces of toy guns were coming out of the ground and that is a good sign that there were kids playing at this spot. A good bet for finding pennies, dimes, and nickles.

She immediately found this crudely made but interesting ring. It looks like it says IRAN or RON and has 1945 or 46 on the other side. It is definitely silver but there are no markings on the inside.

Within seconds of each other, we both dug war nickles. She found two in the same hole and I had one. I also found a buffalo nickle with the date side stuck to a glob of rusty something or other. It will take some work to make out the date.

My wife also found a 52 Jefferson nickle and both of us managed 11 wheaties altogether.

Non-war Nickles and wheaties:

Oh, and this little gem was in the first hole I dug...

Lots and lots of goodies. The ring your wife found is interesting... almost looks homemade. Definitely a unique find.
Nice silver day. Three war nickels in a hunt is incredible. :happydance01:

Howdy Amigo!
Looks to me like you had a totally excellent day of hunting.
Looking at that playground pin, they'd never get away with producing those today.
Probably label it as some sort of child porn!

Cool silver items! You done awesome!

Blessings,
