yesterdays hunt finds a sterling war badge

Yesterday my wife and I went to our usual woods where we find stuff mostly from the 40's.
Both of us managed several wheaties in the hunt. I had my heart set on finding a silver coin but it was not to be. I did, however find a couple of silver items. One turned out to be a sterling infantry medal from WWII. The other was a little sombrero and sandal that are clipped together like they were once part of a charm bracelet.

Also pictured is a play money nickel and a toy car that my wife found.

Congrats on the wheats and goodies. Good luck on your next time out to the woods. Your hunch is most more than likely correct and there has got to be at least one silver coin waiting to be found. :yes:

Oh, We have found probably 75 silver coins, 700 wheaties, and at least a dozen WWII pins and badges in this particular woods. There should be a few more silvers in there. I just was hoping to find one on that hunt. It's not getting any easier as we clean out the goodies.
 
lots of coool stuff here.. the CIB has been given out for a long time to infantry soldiers who have a combat tour. i like the old car also . thats an oldie.
 
Great looking medal thumbsup01 That is a real nice piece. The part of the charm bracelet is a good find too. Even the car is a nice old one. Still some great finds from them woods.
 
The CIB pin is areally cool find!! And who knows you might find those little silver charm do-dads all over the woods thumbsup01
