This past week has been crazy at work. Catching up from being off for 5 days straight. I’m just now getting one of those “round tuit†things to post last weekend’s finds made during a trip to NE Texas. Immediately after Thanksgiving I made a trip to pick up my mother in NE Texas. She spent the holiday with her sister that still lives in the area where their family and our ancestors lived from the 1870s to approx the 1940s.
Thinking it would be a good opportunity to hunt a park that my dad and I once did back in the 1960s with the old Coin Master, I obtained permission from the park super. Prior to 1920 the park was a residential area. The finds show it was that in fact.
The deep keeper finds were thin, but the SE came through for me. In addition to the two Mercs and the wheatie, I found a squashed thimble, a decorative piece that I’m not sure what was attached to, and a hunk of something that looks like gas line. Littered throughout the area were deep nails, pieces of light bulbs, and numerous iron items like washers and nuts. I was somewhat taken aback by the .925 chain I found. Definitely not a relic, I’ll keep it though. :smitten:
Thanks for looking.
