As to custom programs they work better in some areas than others. You need to build a program that will work in the area were you live. I see lots of people trying other's programs. This can be like chasing a ghost. Read your manual. Also programs respond diffrent when coils are changed. What program works good for some may not work as good for others.

Yes, this is assumed by most V3/V3i users. Sharing programs can have huge benefits to those in the same regions as the author. You have to learn to adjust your detector, and these programs can be used as starting points, just as the programs included in the Library of the V3/V3i. Custom programs are very important to a new user. This is why the good folks at white provide several to get started with. With the exception of beach hunting and hunting in soil with high mineralization strength these programs are going to perform as designed for the average user. Yazoo's program is a great example of this. Lot's of folks have great results with it. Feel free to post your own programs and I will make sure there is a link included in the above post.
