January Inventory; Not Great, Not Bad Either.

Howdy Folks!
Since I won't be getting out today, I decided to inventory what I took in January of 2011 to see how things look. In the photos that follow, you'll notice a whole bunch of coins. Well over $80 bucks worth. I haven't added my last batch yet either, which is just a couple of bucks worth of clad I found yesterday.

You'll see silver rings, necklaces and other stuff, and gold rings and other stuff that I found in January. Quite a bit of the clad came from my trip to Texas. That beautiful silver bracelet was found at a school tot lot in Mesquite.

My silver and gold finds were not up to expectation, but still managed to find several really nice pieces. Considering I haven't been able to hunt properly since injuring my knee in July, I guess my finds aren't too shabby. Shouldn't be too much longer before I am running with a full head of steam and look to do better in coming months.

That's a great question. What would I consider adequate for the month?
First, I expect to take over $100 per month in clad by itself. I sorta failed in that one, but did get close.
Second, my silver and gold take was about half what I would expect. I got a smattering of 10k items, but not a single 14k anything. Don't know the cash value of my gold yet but suspect it won't break the $300 mark.

So, as to what I consider adequate: $100 per month in clad, and another $300 in gold/silver jewelry.
Missed the mark last year, and hope to improve in 2011!

It wasn't bad. Just not terrific. Hopefully my knee will be back up to snuff and I'll enjoy an outstanding
February. With any luck, I might be able to make up my shortfall from January!

Howdy Pard!
We've had real cold temperatures here with a bit of snow. Nothing like that 20 inches, but with a temperature 17 below zero and a wind chill of -31 below zero, I ain't been out all month! Tomorrow is supposed to warm up some, but I evidently got bronchitis, so I ain't going out for a day or two either.

Just remember, spring is a'comin'!
