I was working as a mechanic at a recycling center when I found this. It was brought in with a load of brass and I saved her from a horrible melting death. She is 7 inches tall, about 1 pound, and appears to be made of brass. I have never seen anything like it. Oh and there are no markings of any kind. Anyone have any idea what this might be from or about?

That is awesome Ferrous, I was going to say hood ornament but I think it's just one nice hand crafted work of art. Are you sure it's brass? and does that yellow belong on the breasts?
P.S. I am finally a Full Member with this post thumbsup01

Nice piece. Definitely looks like quality work. I would Google bronze sculptures and see if any similar work shows up. If you can get an artists name, you should be able to figure out how much it's worth. That would be the good news. The bad news is if it is a miniture prop for a movie set. Something they can get a close up of and enlarge for the big screen. Some props are worth money, but a lot of them are not. No markings anywhere?? Still a great piece of workmanship. thumbsup01

No markings, no initials, and no the yellow paint is from Photoshop to be a little more presentable. I have googled until my googler hurts...no match. I have had it for about 12 years.

That is really cool! I would say it is art deco. Maybe you could email these people a pic and they might know: http://www.artdecocollection.com/statueitemssold.htm

The art deco idea seems like you pretty much nailed it. Personally I don't think I would buy something like that though. :-\. If the art deco police show up........I know nothing, I see nothing :lipssealed: lol

I think it's a lot more modern than Art Deco. I think it's 70's 80's but that's me. I love it and I would have bought it. I love the way it's designed to stand as if she's ready to take off. Want to sell it. lol lol lol lol
That is awesome! Did you yellow out the boobs though? I can't figure out what is going on with that...
EDIT: photo shopped - got it!

Probably some type of Iron Maiden rendition. Some where there's a little boy that's put down his National Geographic. Almost too racy for the site. ;)
Sweet, Ferrous! Lucky poop! What a beautiful piece! thumbsup01
My thoughts are, you should thank the god of Venus! 8)
(Love that butt shot, BTW! God bless you, and thank you! lol)
Someone out there, loved women, huh?
I also gotta say that it reminds me a lot of the 1927 Fritz Lang flick, Metropolis.

Regardless of what it actually is, similar pieces are all over the 'net and fetch a decent price. That's an Antique Road Show item for sure! ;)

Now that is one strange piece of art... quite detailed, but not representative of anything I am aware of in movies, comics or art deco. Strange.... RickO

I think she is Maria from the 1927 Fritz Lang movie Metropolis. Look at the pictures of her on Wikipedia, the costume is very similar. There may be better pictures if you google it. Take it to Antiques Roadshow or send them a pic, I have a feeling it is quite (very) valuable!
