My mother has been playing bingo with a group of folks where she lives - they have a nickel pot and she seems to win quite often. She told me she see's a lot of buffalo's in the pot. I asked her to keep any that she wins and, as well, keep any silver.
Here is a snapshot of what she recently gave me.
Not a very good photo (phone camera) - There are 3 indians in the bunch anyway.

I will try to get a good close up scan of the little indian ... soon. It is a 1938 and looks quite real, except for the size.

Thats neat that Mom is looking out for you :clapping:,my daughter works at an bank and she keeps her eyes open to silver and old coins all the time...It amazes me that people would cash in a whole roll of V nickles for face value, that happened to to long ago....Silver is silver no matter how we get it

Thats cool !! It seem some of the ladies are digging into the private stash :lipssealed:
That little buff is really cool!! I seems that the buffalo nickle was used as decoration for lots of thing.
I wounder what that came from ? :thinkingabout:
Last spring on my first day out ,after some of the frost started to come out of the ground. I dug this pendent that has the image of a small 1916 buffalo nickle in it too. Thought that was kinda cool !
Congrats on your newly acquired oldies

Here is a close up of the 1938 Indian/Buffalo
Not sure what the significance of 1938 is, but these little souvenirs seem to be a dime a dozen on Ebay.
I scanned it alongside a well worn regular indian nickel - the 1200 dpi scan really shows the wear!
