I started saving my copper about a 8 months ago, this is when I met my hunting buddy Kim, he told me he always saves his copper finds and it all adds up, before that I would just trash the copper pipes and fittings, about three days ago we were hunting an old field and I found about 20 pounds of copper wire that was about the length of a football field, I figured I now have enough copper to justify a trip to the recycling facility, I turned in a total of 43 pounds of copper, I also had 4 scuba tanks that did not pass the hydro test, 3 aluminum and 1 steel tank that was also recycled.

Not bad for stuff you would have thrown out. :clapping: I'd take that anyday!

I've been keeping the copper pipe and fittings that I find too, I throw them in a 5 gallon bucket, one of these days I'll bring it in and see what I get. I also have another 5 gallon bucket for brass too but I think brass only brings about 1/3 of what copper does.

It's fun seeing our hobby pay for itself. <: Nice haul Steve. Trust your ol' buddy, Kim. I think I'll start calling you the copper King. 8) By the way, that little project we were working on today, I've figured out a sure fire method to get 'er done...

Nice chunk of change Steve.. The last 5 gallon bucket of brass I turned in was worth $140.

At one time I was seperating my Pre and Post 1982 Memorials due to the copper content, but never did anything about it and ended up just rolling them and cashing them in at the bank. Do you think it is worthwhile saving the Wheats and Pre '82 Memorials and cashing them in? Is there any law against it, turning them in for melt I mean??
