Civil War Nut

Hidy. While hunting a old fairgrounds last spring I found my first good GOLD piece with name and date and initals of who or what it was from. Took it to a jewerly store and they said it was hand forged. Its a little smaller than a quarter and about twice as thick, and weighs 1/4 oz. Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Nice dated gold :happydance01: 1/4 oz is a good thing too  I don't find much gold, so seeing someone else find it is OK with me lol

:shocked04:

I was quite surprised to see the reverse of your item dated 1903. Definitely wasn't expecting that.

You probably went through the same thought process.

Congrats on a very nice piece. :clapping:

I wonder why the initials on the back are different than from whats on the front. Maybe it was a gift. I wonder what the R.P. signified, :dontknow: anyhoo its a great find.
