Here is a short video on if you see neighborhood construction going on.......get your detector and ask for permission to search the area they are working on.
In a 1950's build area, some nice coins were dug from just the grounds that were distrubed from the construction.
Most neighborhood were part of a much larger acreage of someones property years before the home builders bought the land. The are might have some older coins and relic items lost from the original land owner years and years before.

For such a limited area you did great!! I wouldn't expect that much silver, but that is what makes our hobby so exciting. You never know what comes out of the ground. I love to see construction going on. :clapping:

There is about 250 houses in the subdivision and I asked at least 60 home owners to search the dirt piles and holes. I got permission from over 50 of them. :)
Since it was on their property I asked permission to dig only in the holes the construction workers dug and the piles of dirt they stacked up. I also search after the holes were filled back up before they spread the grass seeds.
The 1868 shield nickel was dug from a dirt pile that came from next to a good sized oak tree. It is my oldest coin find in the 40+ years of detecting. 8)
