I had hoped to go detecting today but it is raining. >:\ Well, at least the ground may start to thaw out. :thinkingabout: Anyway, I did get out for a couple of hours on Friday and picked up two silver dimes. Saturday was a good day too, as I managed to dig up six silver coins.

The mercury dime is very worn, but I can barely make out the date, 1918. The Roosevelt is dated 1946.

These made for a fun day at the park. The dimes are dated1941, 1941-S, 1942, 1943, and 1951.

It's going to be very close. :shocked01: It's all over if the temperature drops and the ground freezes though.

Great bunch of keepers Angel! :happydance01:

Glad to see you got out a couple of times this week.

.... getting so close! <:

I'll do my best to hold this cold front here in Iowa for as long as I can.

Best of luck.

Thanks guys! :beerbuddy: I am hoping for a couple of good weekends before the year ends. If not, I'll be catching up on cleaning up many of the finds. Or maybe I'll just read a few books. :interesting: lol

Looks like you will be doing some beach hunting for them silvers. NO way are you getting out of the thousand thing lol Even if we have to send you off to a seeded coin hunt to get them last 20. :eyebrow: Nice coins by the way ;)

The ponds and lakes have iced up, so the silver is safe there. lol I am going to try a few local sites during the next few weekends, weather allowing. :frozen: Hopefully they will yield a few more silver coins.

Not a problem.... I have a gas powered ice auger that I used for ice fishing when I lived up north. I'd be more than happy to let you use it. :poke: lol

 I can see it now... new years eve... 999 silvers... Angel with an ice axe at the local park... The countdown begins... he gets a good signal... the ball is halfway down... with one well placed maniacal blow he chops out a monster plug from the permafrost and pulls out a 64 dime... he gives Franklin a kiss as Auld Lang Syne plays through his Killer B's... he replaces the plug leaving not a trace of his presence... and dreams of next years 2000 silvers...
