Tim got roped into moving someone today, so I went hunting with a fella that lives a few blocks from me. He had a place to hunt that he had hunted a few times with no luck. He's just starting to learn the E-trac and wanted some guidance with it. He isn't without some really nice finds thus far, but he is still getting used to the tones and numbers. The house we hunted was built in 1917 and had a lot of land to cover. It took us about a half hour before I hit silver, but it was a good one! The goodies today were all found around the old clothesline... I got an 1894 S Barber Quarter first. A little while later Jim got his first good find, an 1899 Indian Head. He had never found an indian and was super happy to get one in the 1800's and I was happy for him too. We searched more of the yard and I found an old for amusement only token back at the clothesline and soon after found my second barber! This one was a 1914 D Barber Dime in AWESOME condition... By far my nicest barber. The details on the back are still so prominant that it feels like braille. Here are the pics of the barbers...

Those are some super coins! Must have been a real treat to see them hit the sunlight for the first time in nearly 100 years. :envious:

I've never found a barber that has the original luster around the head and lettering...it appears white in the photos. This is also the first one that I could actually see the veins in the leaves on the reverse.

The Dime is in real sweet condition :clapping:....But you did notice that the S on that 1894 Quarter is not in the normal spot it should be?? It's listed in Breen's Book as &quot:beerbuddy:reen 4142 Mintmark far to right. I can't find any info on it and I don't think it's super rare (but it could be) but it does add ANS {1914}, Newcomb Display; 1984 Midwinter ANA:1060; others So it made the display at a major coin show, along with other off center Barber Quarters in 1984. I would E Mail some places like PCGS or NGC and see what they think about it. I bet you weren't expecting that lol Oh by the way.....nice finds Brian ;)

I don't think I've seen a barber in that kind of shape dug from the ground. She's a beauty! :clapping:

The quarter is a very nice keeper too. That's a good day of hunting.

Congrats BC!
