randy

Managed to take advantage of the nice weather and make the drive to my favorite spot. Got there at about 12:30, and after about 4 1/2 hours of careful griddng, no silver :bangahead01:
It was getting dark so I decided to call it a day, a bit disappointed as this would end the streak of silver at this site. But swinging as I walked to the car, I hit the quarter :happydance01:, only 4 inches deep, but sort of a weird signal -- high FE numbers (18 ish) and CO 48-49; silver quarters, especially shallow ones, are almost 10-47, 9-47 for me. This sort of signal almost always turns out to be big junk, and there was another target in the hole mucking with the signal (according to my pinpointer), but I didn't care to find out what it was.
Then hit the rosie not a minute later, only 30 feet from the car. This one was unmistakable, and before I dug, I knew I had my 100th silver for the year <: <:
So, 4 1/2 hours of careful hunting, then 2 random silvers in the last 5 minutes. Go figure.
