Spent 4 hours with the V3i at at local park. Temps were in the low 40's with a wind up to 20 mph. I wish the coppers would come out of the ground better. But, in the condition they do, it's into the junk bucket for them. Total for the hunt was 3 Indians, 1 Shield Nickel, 1 Buffalo, 1892 Barber Dime, and a 1941 Merc - looking like the day it was minted. And the usual clad.

It's always exciting to find a shield nickel. :peace: Too bad the soil at that site did a number on the one you found. Still, that was a sweet hunt, with one nice old silver and a great looking mercury dime. thumbsup01

Very nice John :) That merc is in beautiful condition, but I really like the barber
You're right; the copper sure comes out looking nasty. You need to dig in the Midwest for awhile, you would love how the coppers look coming out of the ground :)

Great stuff.
Silver always makes the hunt worthwhile, but the IH's, Buffalo and especially the Shield top it off as a great hunt. :peace:
The V3 must be quite the nice machine to pull that kind of stuff from a park.
Congrats.
