I got a little hunt time in today and among the finds was this nice deep Indian Head. I thought I would share it here as it illustrates the very good depth capability of the Spectra V3. I measured the coin at over 9 inches in depth conservatively. The Indian was hitting consistently in the +93 to +95 range from 90 degree angles. It would wrap to -95 occasionally. The depth indicated by the V3 was 8.5 inches. The pinpoint was whisper quiet with the bars moving to show a dominant 7.5 followed closely by the 2.5 frequency.

The Lesche digger is in the hole past the midway point of the red handle.

1907 Indian Head Penny. Pretty rough shape, but I will take it! ;) It air tested with a VDI of +58 to +59. What a beautiful Fall day.

Hey Yazoo!
This happens when dealing with mineralized ground or using lower sensitivity settings to deal with EMI. The VDI response will elevate until it starts to wrap on deeper targets. Wheats usually end up in the 80's and Silver in the low 90's for me if they are deeper than 6 inches. This is not unique to the V3. I have experienced this same behavior with deeper targets using the MXT and DFX.

Congrats on the deep IH thumbsup01. Were you on the verge of losing that signal?? Also, were you using correlate??

It was getting very close to wrapping all the way past where I had my custom tones set. I was using my correlate program. The pinpoint was just right for a deep coin so I dug.

Great score on the deep Indian thumbsup01 this past summer I dug quite a few of them ultra deep Indians along with some barber's from a local ball park that was celery fields before the ballpark and that flap you have there looks par for the course in that ballfield that I hunt. I won't be able to hunt that spot till spring again, the ground there is like concrete now I'm sure.

Hey Nitro! When did you sneak in here? lol The fact that it was such a consistent hit in all directions, and that the tone still had that nice little rolling sound to it is what made me dig it. A lot of targets in this VDI range are nail tips and deeper iron targets. It sounded good though. Cold front has me shut down as well Giant. Good to have that spot to dream about though. I just really like getting into the old coins. I still get excited over Wheats. I love them all.
