Not much for a month of hunting the same spots but that makes 17 big silvers for the year <: and my 4th and 5th ring both are silver. One was obvious but the other was dark and looked rusty but turned out to be sterling silver ring from the fiftys. I think the diamond is bigger than a carat and looks like a real set and all but as my luck would have it, it's not- but I will take it. I had my new excalibur 1000 right up till I found out it was a fake

Man your wife is going to kill you if you keep buying all those coins and rings off ebay! At least you got the dfx back now you have a decent machine to work with.

Olive oil is Ok to use and works to loosen caked on soil. We have more corroded coppers up our way and we have to resort to hot hydrogen peroxide to make the best of a corroded coin. I usually just heat it up in a small shot glass and dip a soft toothbrush in it and rub it over the coin, as many times as I need to. I then dip a brass brush in the peroxide and scrub the copper fairly hard to remove more of the green. I repeat that process until satisfied.
