I really have not had time lately to be active on the board, I've actually had to work lol Thought I'd post some pics of a few of my latest hunts and some of my interesting finds. I'll Start with my latest finds being from yesterday.
Ok so yesterday I did not have much time, as my wife totaled her car on Saturday, so I had to bring her to get a rental and start the car shopping fun. I hit a local school that I have been to a few times. I thought since I am becoming more familiar with my E-Trac, I'd give it a whirl where I've been a few times to see if there is any improvement in my skill. In the open area I was only finding clad. There is an old fence and coming out about 10 feet is overgrown. I went into a small area I could get through and found a wheatie. So I figured most have hit the easy area and left this area alone (including myself). I found 2 more wheaties, then I had a odd hit. As I have been changing up how I detect with the E-trac, by number, sounds and no by both, trying to find my groove with it. It was a lower tone than I normally hear with a coin, but it was a solid 12-31. Then I remembered what George (coinnut) told me. Indians hit in that area. If I was just going by tone, I don't think I would have dug it. But sure enough, an 1890 Indian. So THANK YOU GEORGE thumbsup01
As you all know, sometimes we don't find what we are looking for , but we come across other interesting items. Last weekend, I hit an old school and found this silver ring, I hit an old park and went back over an area that I've been hitting recently I had an odd signal, so I dug. I came across this odd pice of metal, at first I thought it was just trash, just upon examining it a bit closer, it is a 1982 Quarter that someone had placed on a train track and flattened out. I was lucky the date was still visible, an interesting find nonetheless. On earlier hunts in the same park, I found this old lighter, I believe from the 40s or 50s, and this old lock, my wife thinks they are trash, I just keep them, they are useless and probably are just trash, but I think being a pack rat is part of what we do lol
