With a mid-morning shoot scheduled, I decided to get up extra early and get a good hour of detecting in. Since I wanted to stay close to home, I went up the street to a place that I have had on my list to detect for most of the summer.

The first half hour was nothing but clad and pull tabs. Then I hit the United States Army ring!! <: It sure looked great sticking in the clump of dirt! I thought... finally one of those big chunks of gold that many of you all find. But, the stamp said 10k Filled. :ticked: Oh well, still a nice piece that I am glad to add to my collection and a big one at that. From what I have seen online, I'm guessing WWII. Any thoughts?

On the way to the truck, I picked up a couple of wheats... which gave this place hope for future hunts. Then... I got the two rosies in the same hole with the Merc coming about 10 ft. from my truck. :happydance01:

I'll be hitting that place when I have some more time.

Good luck this weekend everyone!

Gorgeous ring :shocked04: :shocked04: It's not a lot of gold, but sure does beat the heck out of being plated lol Gold filled is much better than gold plate. The rings weight (minus stone of course) would be 1/10 10K gold. (I think I got that right ) That explains why it is in such great shape. A stunning looking ring, and with that red stone demands attention lol Nice heart attack material  That place has a lot of potential, and I can only guess you will be posting more silver from there. :clapping: Nice hunt!!
