I went up to my cottrage the other weekend and found more relics and trade silver. One of the highlights was an old hatchet...probably mid 1800's.

I went for a "wonder" deep into the woods and found a plain button and then found my oldest military button nearby. It is a US 16th Infantry cuff button and this style was made from 1798 to 1802.

Various flat buttons including a dandy button and a jews harp.

And here is my trade silver that I found ...with a couple tinkling cones.

Thanks for looking!

Wow, where to begin? That magical site continues to give up wonderful finds!

First of all, that button is spectacular! It cleaned up really well. What is it made of?

You always find incredible buttons and trade silver there. What a historic site!

Thanks Tony! The button is a pewter button...the soil can be VERY kind to the buttons in most of the areas I detect there.
