Last Weekend I got out with Tony & Dave for a day of detecting. Unfortunately the town we picked to meet up at wasn't to agreeable.
It had obviously been hit pretty hard in the past, but we stuck with it and all ended up with a few nice finds.
I only dug one coin, an 1867 Indian, but I also dug a cool sterling freemason ring.
The ring made my day!
It was great getting together with the guys. We need to do it more often this year guys!!!

Well, you got the oldest coin and the coolest relic, Don! That ring is amazing! I was not able to find one like that on the internet. There are so many different Masonic rings.

You probably figured out that it is a "Scottish Rite 32nd Degree" ring.

It was great detecting with you and Dave again! At least one of us found something good!

It was a GREAT day to get together with old friends and do some metal detecting! The second town was very friendly, and I did much better there than the first town. Don, you got the oldest coin and coolest silver ring, so I'd say you won the day! Can't wait to do it again my friends! Best wishes and happy digging, Dave.

I would love to join you guys as I have spent the last week shoveling about two feet of snow (and it is still snowing). Looks like you all had some good success. Congrats and thx for posting WD

Great looking ring, and the IH looks like it'll clean up nicely. Been over a year since I had an 1800's coin. Seems the pickings are slim everywhere lately. Congrats!

And for anyone who doesn't know, in the Scottish rite the traditional degrees only go up to 29th. The Chivalric degrees then continue to the 32nd degree, so this ring shows the person who lost it was of the highest level and probably a senior member.
