Hi Friends,
Today I stopped at the store to get some snacks and the cashier tells me that someone had just given her a fake quarter. She shows it to me and mentions it doesn't even sound like a quarter when you drop it on the counter. And to prove her point she drops the coin on the countertop, and it makes a very familiar noise to my ears. I ask if I can see it and she hands it to me. I can see the silver edge. I tell her it is indeed an unusual coin and I just so happen to collect unusual coins. I offer her a real quarter for it, and she agrees to the trade. Turns out it is a slightly circulated 2003-S proof Alabama state quarter. It's been a couple years since I got silver at the store!
