Hi Everyone,

Hope all had a great Independence Day. I got out 1 day this past weekend early in the morning at a park that I have hit quite a few times. I just needed to swing the detector for it has been bone dry here in WI and the ground is hard. This part of the park I hunted was close to a woods and under trees so, the ground was below average in terms of what I like to hunt in. Last few times out, I have been digging iffy signals that are deep without success. The law of averages finally came around. Little silver jewelry charm, 13 wheats (most are full of green junk and a little toasty) can read 1909 and 1926 on 2 of them, 1 IHP (1903), silver rosie. Cool finds are the button (no idea what it is, if any of you know please respond), WI Association of Police Chiefs annual event from 1928 (funky signal from about 13" down) and a dog tag. I think they filled the area I was hunting at some point. Everything was found from 9-13" down right on top of the clay layer.

Well done! A few silvers and relics....sounds like a good time to me. Its been awhile for me since I last went detecting...Maybe tonight?

WOW! Sooo deep! Were using the AT Pro or Ctx? Love the fob...maybe that's some kind of livery button. Imagine if you got some moisture there! Congrats!

Good job excavating those tough signals! It paid off for you. I really like that fob! It will soon be 100 years old, hard to believe.

We finally got some rain so going to hit the same spot tomorrow morning.

Drew - using the CTX and pretty much digging it all. Buddy of mine in the same park got a 2 cent piece which is on my bucket list. He got that deep with the Nox800.

Great finds for sure! I've only been out a couple times this year and haven't really found much. Seems to me they love moving dirt around our area so much that even wooded park land is fill material, or has been scraped down to the clay long before we have a chance to detect. Anything covered long ago is really deep now. Even my first ever LC was so deep at around 24" I nearly gave up digging. Of course I'm stubborn as a mule sometimes...
