I went back to the site where I found the 1902 Barber Quarter a couple of weeks ago. This is a strange site, I've found three silver quarters there now but only one silver dime. I'm not complaining!

It is a love/hate relationship!
I just wish the silver coins came out of the ground in better shape at such sites. Still, it's fun finding Barber Quarters.
I was able to determine that the brass object is the end from a 1930s Ray-O-Vac flashlight.

Nice recovery. Nice to find those areas that give up 1800's silver, especially big silver. Congrats WD

That's amazing! So old coins from such a place. Probably the course of the road has never changed? Congratulations on the beautiful pieces.

The road has not changed, however the strip used to be lined with trees. Here's an aerial photo from 1938:

Well done! Silver from the 1800's is always special. I hope you find more there.

Very nice finds! Love those big 1800's silvers. Odd that you haven't seen any IHs, buffs or V nickles either.

That's a boat load of finds, Tony! Why would a railroad strip be good? I wouldn't think people would go near there. Congrats!!
