I made it out tonight before the rain to save these at a project where they are regrading portions of a local park. 3 Wheats, 2 IH’s and some silvers including a sterling ring. I also like the Post Office Dept button. Should be more to come from this spot!

Wow, more terrific tear out finds! Like you, I love the P.O.D. button.

The silver ring is a great find too. It is a "Son In Service" blue star ring that a mother would wear to signify that she had a son serving in the war. Yours might be from WWI. What a great piece of history.

:congrats:

Thank you for that Tony! I had not started the research on the ring yet, so I'll have to check in to that further.

WOWWWW!! It's amazing how you do it, Darren! Nice ID, Tony!! Both you guys would be in a hall of fame if we had one! :notworthy:
Again with the marbles  I'm starting to think marbles weren't as popular in New England as other parts of the country. I can't seem to find them...EVER!

Is that postal worker on horseback? If so that’s an early one congrats!

Is that postal worker on horseback? If so that’s an early one congrats! Yes, on horseback. The postal rider on horse was actually the official emblem of the Post Office Dept from the latter 1800's until the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970. I'm guessing the button I found is from the teens or 1920's.
