Hey everyone,
Went back to a colonial site I've been working and was skunked the other day. After yesterday's rains things went better today. Dug a dandy button and a 1783 1 Sol, Louis 16th. They made these coins from 1777-1791. So this one must be a 1783 as the last number really looks like a 3.
Thanks for looking!

Even though the rain may stop us when it's raining, the ground is so much nicer to us when it's damp. Nice find Drew

Great coin Drew. I would very much like to find an ugly person on a coin.
Can you get that extra crud off these coins or do you leave it as is? Just curious.

Thank you, guys!
Badgers, I could get the gunk off but I'll just leave it as is. The coin cleaning part has never interested me.
I live in a great spot for ugly men on coins!

The dude on that coin may be ugly but the coin itself is beautiful! Wow, what a find! I agree that it must be 1783. Amazing!
